Mar Menor
Mar Menor is a large saltwater lagoon located in the southeast of Spain, near the Mediterranean Sea. It covers an area of about 170 square kilometers and is separated from the sea by a narrow strip of land called the La Manga del Mar Menor. The lagoon is known for its warm, shallow waters, making it a popular destination for swimming, sailing, and other water sports.
The Mar Menor is home to diverse marine life and unique ecosystems, including seagrass beds and salt marshes. It has been designated as a protected area due to its ecological importance. However, the lagoon faces environmental challenges, including pollution and habitat degradation, which have raised concerns among conservationists.
