Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi
Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, often referred to as "Tiger Pataudi," was a prominent Indian cricketer and captain of the Indian national team. Born on March 5, 1941, he was known for his exceptional batting skills and leadership qualities. Pataudi played in 46 Test matches from 1961 to 1975, scoring over 2,400 runs and becoming one of India's most respected cricketers.
Apart from his cricketing achievements, Pataudi was also a member of the royal family of Pataudi, a small princely state in India. He was married to the famous actress Sharmila Tagore, and they had three children, including the well-known actor Saif Ali Khan. Pataudi passed away on September 22, 2011, leaving behind a rich legacy in Indian cricket.
