Mangalica
The Mangalica is a unique breed of domestic pig known for its curly, woolly coat, resembling that of a sheep. Originating from Hungary, this breed was developed in the 19th century and is prized for its high-quality meat, which is rich in flavor and marbled with fat.
Mangalica pigs are typically raised in free-range environments, allowing them to forage for food, which contributes to the distinct taste of their meat. They come in three color varieties: blonde, red, and black. Due to their rarity and exceptional culinary qualities, Mangalica meat is often sought after by gourmet chefs.
