Maned Wolf
The Maned Wolf is a unique canid native to South America, primarily found in grasslands and savannas. It is known for its long legs, large ears, and distinctive reddish-brown fur. Unlike other wolves, the Maned Wolf has a more solitary lifestyle and primarily hunts at dusk or dawn.
This species primarily feeds on small mammals, birds, and fruits, particularly the wolf apple, which is a favorite. The Maned Wolf is not a true wolf but is more closely related to foxes. It plays a crucial role in its ecosystem by helping control rodent populations and dispersing seeds.
