Mandate for Palestine
The "Mandate for Palestine" was a legal document established by the League of Nations in 1922, which granted Britain administrative control over the territory of Palestine. Its primary purpose was to facilitate the establishment of a national home for the Jewish people while ensuring the rights of the existing Arab population were respected.
The mandate outlined the responsibilities of the British authorities, including promoting Jewish immigration and settlement, as well as developing the economy and infrastructure of the region. It aimed to balance the interests of both Jewish and Arab communities, although tensions between them increased over time.
