Manda (Mythology)
In Hindu mythology, Manda is a significant figure associated with the ocean of milk and the churning of the ocean, known as Samudra Manthan. Manda is often depicted as a mountain that serves as a churning rod, used by the gods and demons to extract valuable treasures from the ocean. This event is crucial in Hindu cosmology, symbolizing the struggle between good and evil.
Manda is also linked to the creation of various divine items, including the elixir of immortality (amrita) and other celestial objects. The churning process not only produced these treasures but also highlighted the cooperation and conflict between the devas (gods) and asuras (demons).
