Malolos Congress
The Malolos Congress was a significant assembly in Philippine history that convened in 1898. It was the first revolutionary congress in Asia, held in the city of Malolos, Bulacan. The congress aimed to draft a constitution for the newly declared First Philippine Republic after the country declared independence from Spanish rule.
The congress resulted in the creation of the Malolos Constitution, which established a democratic government and outlined the rights of citizens. It was a crucial step in the Philippines' struggle for independence, although the republic was short-lived due to the onset of the Philippine-American War.
