Maliseet Tribe
The Maliseet Tribe is a Native American group primarily located in the northeastern United States and eastern Canada. They are part of the larger Wabanaki Confederacy, which includes other tribes such as the Passamaquoddy and Abenaki. The Maliseet people traditionally lived along the banks of the Saint John River and relied on fishing, hunting, and agriculture for their sustenance.
Today, the Maliseet Tribe is recognized for its efforts to preserve its culture and language, known as Maliseet-Passamaquoddy. They engage in various economic activities, including tourism and crafts, while also participating in political advocacy to protect their rights and resources.
