Maliseet
The Maliseet are a Native American tribe primarily located in the northeastern United States and eastern Canada. They are part of the larger Wabanaki Confederacy, which includes other tribes such as the Mi'kmaq and Penobscot. The Maliseet traditionally lived along the Saint John River and relied on fishing, hunting, and agriculture for their sustenance.
The Maliseet language, known as Maliseet-Passamaquoddy, is an Algonquian language still spoken by some community members today. The tribe has a rich cultural heritage, including traditional crafts, music, and storytelling. They continue to work towards preserving their language and traditions while engaging in modern economic activities.
