Malintzin (Interpreter)
Malintzin, also known as La Malinche, was a native Nahua woman who played a crucial role as an interpreter during the Spanish conquest of Mexico in the early 16th century. She was fluent in both Nahuatl and Spanish, which allowed her to facilitate communication between the Spanish conquistador Hernán Cortés and various indigenous groups.
Her skills in translation and diplomacy were instrumental in the Spanish's interactions with the Aztec Empire and other tribes. While she is often viewed as a controversial figure, her contributions significantly impacted the course of history during this transformative period in Mesoamerica.
