Malaysian Monarchy
The Malaysian Monarchy is a unique system of governance where nine Malay states have their own royal families. Among these, one king, known as the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, is elected every five years from the nine rulers. This rotation ensures that each state has a chance to contribute to the national leadership.
The monarchy plays a ceremonial role in Malaysia's political system, symbolizing unity and tradition. The Sultans of the states have significant cultural influence and participate in various state functions, while the king's duties include representing Malaysia in diplomatic matters and upholding the Islamic faith in the country.
