Malaysian Islamic Party
The Malaysian Islamic Party (Parti Islam Se-Malaysia, or PAS) is a political party in Malaysia that promotes Islamic values and principles. Founded in 1951, it aims to establish an Islamic state and implement Sharia law in the country. PAS has a significant following, particularly among the Malay Muslim population, and has participated in various coalitions and elections throughout its history.
The party's ideology is rooted in Islamic teachings and it advocates for social justice, economic development, and moral governance. Over the years, PAS has faced challenges and competition from other political parties, including the United Malays National Organization (UMNO) and the Democratic Action Party (DAP), but it remains a key player in Malaysian politics.
