Malayan sun bear
The Malayan sun bear is the smallest bear species, native to the tropical forests of Southeast Asia. They have a distinctive short, sleek coat that is usually black, with a unique orange or cream-colored patch on their chest resembling a rising sun. These bears are well-adapted to their environment, with long claws for climbing trees and a keen sense of smell for foraging.
Malayan sun bears primarily feed on fruits, insects, and honey, making them important for seed dispersal in their habitat. They are mostly solitary animals and are known for their playful behavior. Unfortunately, they face threats from habitat loss and poaching, leading to a decline in their population.
