Malayan Tapir
The Malayan Tapir is a large herbivorous mammal native to the tropical forests of Southeast Asia. It is easily recognized by its distinctive black and white coloration, with a large, rounded body and a long, flexible snout. Adult tapirs can weigh between 500 to 800 pounds and are primarily nocturnal, spending much of their time foraging for leaves, fruits, and aquatic plants.
These animals are important for their ecosystems as they help in seed dispersal. The Malayan Tapir is currently classified as endangered due to habitat loss and poaching. Conservation efforts are underway to protect their natural habitats and ensure their survival in the wild.
