Major John B. Magruder

Magruder was born on May 1, 1807, in New York City. He graduated from the United States Military Academy in 1830 and served in the Mexican-American War. After the Civil War, he continued his career in various military and civil roles, including serving in the Texas state government. He passed away on February 19, 1871.
