Magneto-Optical discs
Magneto-Optical discs are storage media that combine magnetic and optical technologies to read and write data. They use a laser to heat a small area of the disc, allowing a magnetic field to change the polarity of that area, which encodes the data. This process enables the discs to be rewritten multiple times, making them versatile for data storage.
These discs typically have a capacity ranging from 650 MB to several gigabytes, depending on the format. Magneto-Optical drives are used in various applications, including data archiving and backup, due to their durability and resistance to environmental factors.
