Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a medical imaging technique used to create detailed images of the organs and tissues inside the body. It uses strong magnets and radio waves to generate images, allowing doctors to see structures without using radiation, unlike X-rays or CT scans.
During an MRI scan, the patient lies inside a large, tube-shaped machine. The machine produces a magnetic field that aligns the protons in the body, and radio waves are sent through to create images based on the signals emitted by these protons. This helps in diagnosing various conditions, including tumors, injuries, and brain disorders.
