Magnetic Flux
Magnetic flux refers to the total magnetic field that passes through a given area. It is measured in webers (Wb) and depends on the strength of the magnetic field and the area it penetrates. The angle between the magnetic field lines and the surface area also affects the flux; when the field is perpendicular to the surface, the flux is maximized.
In practical terms, magnetic flux is crucial in understanding how devices like electric generators and transformers work. Changes in magnetic flux can induce an electric current, a principle known as Faraday's law of electromagnetic induction. This principle is fundamental in many electrical applications.
