Maglocks
Maglocks, or magnetic locks, are security devices that use electromagnetism to secure doors. When activated, an electric current flows through a coil, creating a magnetic field that holds a metal plate in place. This makes it difficult to open the door without the proper access control system.
These locks are commonly used in commercial buildings and high-security areas due to their strength and reliability. They can be integrated with various access control systems, such as keycards or biometric scanners, to enhance security. Maglocks are often preferred for their durability and ability to withstand forced entry compared to traditional locks.
