Magellanic penguin
The Magellanic penguin is a medium-sized penguin native to the coasts of South America, particularly in Argentina and Chile. They are easily recognized by their black and white plumage, with a distinctive band of black feathers that runs from their eyes to their chin. These penguins typically grow to about 24 inches tall and weigh between 5 to 14 pounds.
Magellanic penguins are known for their migratory behavior, often traveling long distances between their breeding and feeding grounds. They primarily feed on small fish and squid, using their excellent swimming skills to catch prey. During the breeding season, they nest in burrows or under bushes, laying two eggs that both parents help to incubate.
