Macanese Pataca
The Macanese Pataca (MOP) is the official currency of Macau, a Special Administrative Region of China. It is subdivided into 100 avos and is issued by the Monetary Authority of Macao. The pataca is used for everyday transactions in Macau, including shopping, dining, and entertainment.
The currency features various designs, including images of local landmarks and cultural symbols. While the pataca is the primary currency, the Hong Kong Dollar (HKD) is also widely accepted in Macau, making it convenient for visitors from Hong Kong and other regions.
