MP44
The MP44, also known as the StG 44, is a German assault rifle developed during World War II. It was one of the first firearms to combine the features of a rifle and a submachine gun, allowing soldiers to fire both semi-automatic and fully automatic. The MP44 used the 7.92×33mm Kurz cartridge, which provided effective range and manageable recoil.
Designed by Hugo Schmeisser, the MP44 was intended to improve infantry firepower and mobility. Its innovative design influenced many future firearms, making it a significant milestone in military weaponry. The MP44's impact can still be seen in modern assault rifles used today.
