Lynton and Barnstaple Railway
The Lynton and Barnstaple Railway was a narrow-gauge railway in North Devon, England, that operated from 1898 to 1935. It connected the towns of Lynton and Barnstaple, covering a distance of about 19 miles. The railway was known for its scenic views and steep gradients, making it a popular attraction for tourists.
After its closure, parts of the railway were dismantled, but efforts have been made to preserve its history. Today, a heritage railway operates a short section of the original line, allowing visitors to experience a piece of the railway's past and enjoy the beautiful Devon countryside.
