Luzzu
A Luzzu is a traditional fishing boat commonly found in the Mediterranean, particularly in Malta. Characterized by its vibrant colors and unique design, the Luzzu features a curved hull and a distinctive eye painted on the bow, known as the "Eye of Osiris," which is believed to protect fishermen at sea.
These boats are typically made of wood, although modern versions may use fiberglass. Luzzu boats are often used for both fishing and tourism, showcasing the rich maritime culture of the region. Their design has remained largely unchanged for centuries, reflecting the heritage and craftsmanship of Maltese boat builders.
