Luyten 726-8
Luyten 726-8 is a binary star system located about 8.7 light-years away from Earth in the constellation of Canis Major. It consists of two red dwarf stars, designated Luyten 726-8 A and Luyten 726-8 B, which are relatively cool and dim compared to our Sun.
The system is notable for its proximity to Earth and is part of the solar neighborhood. Luyten 726-8 A has a mass about 0.4 times that of the Sun, while Luyten 726-8 B is slightly less massive. This makes them interesting targets for studies of stellar evolution and the search for exoplanets.
