Luke Skywalker is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise, created by George Lucas. He is a Jedi Knight who plays a central role in the original trilogy, beginning with A New Hope. Luke is known for his journey from a farm boy on the desert planet of Tatooine to a key figure in the fight against the Galactic Empire. Luke is the son of Anakin Skywalker, also known as Darth Vader, and Padmé Amidala. He is trained in the ways of the Force by Obi-Wan Kenobi and later by Yoda.
