Luis A. Ferré
Luis A. Ferré was a prominent Puerto Rican politician and businessman, born on February 17, 1904. He served as the Governor of Puerto Rico from 1969 to 1973 and was a key figure in the establishment of the New Progressive Party, which advocated for statehood for Puerto Rico. Ferré was also known for his contributions to the island's infrastructure and education.
In addition to his political career, Ferré was a successful entrepreneur, founding the Puerto Rico Telephone Company. He played a significant role in promoting economic development in Puerto Rico and was involved in various cultural and philanthropic initiatives throughout his life. Ferré passed away on February 21, 2003.
