Ludwig II
Ludwig II was the King of Bavaria from 1864 until his mysterious death in 1886. Known for his eccentric personality and artistic vision, he became famous for commissioning several extravagant castles, including Neuschwanstein Castle, which inspired Disney's Sleeping Beauty Castle. His reign was marked by a fascination with the arts, particularly music and theater, influenced by composers like Richard Wagner.
Despite his popularity, Ludwig faced political challenges and was declared mentally unfit to rule. He died under suspicious circumstances shortly after his removal from power. Today, he is remembered as a romantic figure and a symbol of Bavarian culture and history.
