Ludovic Halévy
Ludovic Halévy was a French playwright and librettist born on January 1, 1834, in Paris. He is best known for his collaborations with composer Jacques Offenbach, particularly for the operettas La Belle Hélène and La Vie Parisienne. Halévy's work contributed significantly to the development of the operetta genre in the 19th century.
In addition to his work in music, Halévy wrote numerous plays and was involved in the literary scene of his time. He was part of a prominent family, with his uncle being the famous composer Fromental Halévy. Ludovic Halévy passed away on March 7, 1908, leaving a lasting legacy in French theater and music.
