Lubavitch
Lubavitch is a Hasidic movement within Judaism that originated in the late 18th century in what is now Belarus. Founded by Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi, it emphasizes the importance of studying Torah and performing mitzvot (commandments) as a means to connect with God. The movement is known for its outreach efforts, aiming to engage and educate Jews worldwide.
The Chabad community, a prominent branch of Lubavitch, operates numerous centers globally, known as Chabad Houses. These centers provide religious services, educational programs, and social support to Jews of all backgrounds. The movement's teachings focus on the inner dimensions of Jewish mysticism and the belief in the imminent arrival of the Messiah.
