Louise-Marie of Orléans
Louise-Marie of Orléans was a French princess born on July 3, 1812. She was the daughter of Louis-Philippe I, the King of the French, and Marie-Amélie of Bourbon. Louise-Marie became the Queen of the Belgians by marrying Leopold I of Belgium in 1832, shortly after Belgium gained independence.
As queen, Louise-Marie played a significant role in promoting education and the arts in Belgium. She was known for her charitable work and dedication to social causes. Louise-Marie passed away on October 11, 1850, leaving a legacy of compassion and cultural enrichment in her adopted country.
