Louise of Lorraine
Louise of Lorraine was a French noblewoman born in 1553, known for her marriage to Henry III of France in 1575. She became the Queen Consort of France and was part of the Valois dynasty. Louise was known for her piety and devotion, often engaging in religious activities and supporting the Catholic Church during a time of political turmoil.
After the assassination of her husband in 1589, Louise fell into deep mourning and withdrew from public life. She became a symbol of grief and loss, often depicted in art as a melancholic figure. Louise died in 1601, leaving a legacy tied to her husband's reign and the challenges of the era.
