Louis de La Vallière
Louis de La Vallière was a French noblewoman born in 1644, known for her romantic relationship with King Louis XIV of France. She became the king's official mistress in 1661 and was celebrated for her beauty and charm. Their affair lasted for several years, during which she bore him several children.
In 1674, La Vallière chose to leave the court life and entered a convent, seeking a more spiritual existence. She became known as Sister Louise de la Miséricorde and dedicated her life to prayer and service. Her decision marked a significant shift from her previous life of luxury and influence.
