Lotte Lenya was an Austrian singer and actress, born on October 18, 1898, in Vienna. She is best known for her performances in the works of composer Kurt Weill, particularly in the musical "The Threepenny Opera." Lenya's unique voice and dramatic presence made her a prominent figure in the world of theater and music during the early to mid-20th century. In addition to her stage career, Lenya appeared in several films, including "The Roman Spring of Mrs. Stone" and "From Russia with Love." She became a naturalized American citizen in 1947 and continued to perform until her death on November 27, 1981, in New York City.
