Losar
Losar is the Tibetan New Year, celebrated by Tibetan Buddhists and other communities in the Himalayan region. It marks the beginning of the lunar calendar and usually falls in February or March. The festival lasts for several days, featuring various cultural activities, rituals, and family gatherings.
During Losar, people clean their homes, prepare special foods, and offer prayers for prosperity and good fortune. Traditional dishes include guthuk, a special noodle soup, and various sweets. The celebration often includes colorful dances, music, and the lighting of ceremonial fires to ward off evil spirits.
