Lord Lovat
Lord Lovat was a Scottish nobleman, known for his role during the Jacobite uprisings in the 18th century. Born in 1700, he was the 11th Lord Lovat and became a prominent figure in the Jacobite cause, which sought to restore the Stuart monarchy to the British throne. His leadership and military involvement were significant during the Battle of Culloden in 1746.
After the defeat of the Jacobites, Lord Lovat was captured and tried for treason. He was executed in 1747, making him one of the last lords to be beheaded in Britain. His life and actions have since become emblematic of the turbulent times in Scottish history.
