Lord Dunmore's War
Lord Dunmore's War was a conflict that took place in 1774 between the British colony of Virginia and the Shawnee and Mingo tribes. The war was primarily sparked by land disputes as settlers moved westward into territories claimed by Native Americans.
The conflict culminated in the Battle of Point Pleasant, where colonial forces, led by Andrew Lewis, defeated the Native American coalition. The war ended with the Treaty of Camp Charlotte, which established a temporary peace and allowed for further colonial expansion into the Ohio Valley.
