Lope de Aguirre
Lope de Aguirre was a Spanish conquistador born around 1510 in Guipúzcoa, Spain. He is best known for his rebellious expedition in the 1560s, where he led a group of men through the jungles of South America in search of the mythical El Dorado. Aguirre's journey was marked by violence and betrayal, as he turned against his fellow explorers.
In 1561, Aguirre declared himself "Prince of Peru" and sought to establish his own rule. His actions led to a notorious reputation, and he became a symbol of greed and ambition. Ultimately, he was captured and killed in 1561, leaving behind a legacy of infamy.
