Loop Head Lighthouse
Loop Head Lighthouse is located on the southwestern tip of Ireland, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Built in 1854, it stands at 23 meters tall and features a distinctive white tower with a black lantern. The lighthouse was constructed to guide ships safely through the treacherous waters of the Shannon Estuary.
The lighthouse is still operational and is managed by the Commissioners of Irish Lights. Visitors can explore the surrounding area, which offers stunning views of the coastline and nearby cliffs. The site is also a popular spot for birdwatching, with various species nesting in the region.
