Longford Cathedral
Longford Cathedral, officially known as the Cathedral of St. Mel, is located in Longford, Ireland. It serves as the seat of the Diocese of Ardagh and Clonmacnoise. The cathedral was designed in the Romanesque style and was completed in 1856, featuring beautiful stained glass windows and intricate stonework.
The cathedral is named after St. Mel, the patron saint of Longford. It has undergone several renovations over the years, particularly after a fire in 2009 that caused significant damage. Today, it remains an important place of worship and a notable landmark in the region.
