Long-Nosed Monkey
The Long-Nosed Monkey, also known as the Proboscis Monkey, is a unique primate found primarily in the rainforests of Borneo and Sumatra. This species is easily recognizable due to its large, elongated nose, which can be particularly prominent in males. They have a distinctive reddish-brown fur and a large, pot-bellied appearance, which aids in their digestion of the fibrous leaves they consume.
Long-Nosed Monkeys are social animals, living in groups that can consist of up to 20 individuals. They are excellent swimmers and often take to the water to escape predators. Their diet mainly consists of leaves, fruits, and seeds, making them herbivorous. Unfortunately, their habitat is threatened by deforestation and human activities, leading to a decline in their population.
