Long Tail
The "Long Tail" is a concept in business and marketing that describes how a large number of niche products can collectively make up a significant market share. Instead of focusing solely on a few best-selling items, companies can benefit from offering a wide variety of less popular products. This approach allows them to reach diverse customer preferences and generate sales from many different sources.
The term was popularized by Chris Anderson in his 2004 article and later in his book, where he illustrated how digital platforms like Amazon and Netflix thrive by providing access to a vast array of items. This model contrasts with traditional retail, which often emphasizes a limited selection of high-demand products.
