London and North Western Railway
The London and North Western Railway (LNWR) was a major British railway company formed in 1846. It operated extensive rail services across England, particularly in the West Midlands and North West England. The LNWR was known for its innovative engineering and played a significant role in the development of the railway network during the Victorian era.
In 1923, the LNWR became part of the London, Midland and Scottish Railway (LMS) during a major railway grouping in the UK. The LNWR's legacy includes its contributions to railway technology and infrastructure, as well as its influence on regional transport and economic growth.
