Lodoicea Maldivica
Lodoicea maldivica, commonly known as the double coconut, is a unique palm tree native to the Seychelles. It is renowned for producing the largest seeds of any plant, which can weigh up to 30 kilograms. The seeds are shaped like a double coconut, resembling two coconuts fused together.
This palm can grow up to 30 meters tall and has a distinctive appearance with large, fan-shaped leaves. Lodoicea maldivica thrives in coastal areas and is often found in sandy soils. Due to its limited distribution and specific habitat requirements, it is considered a vulnerable species.
