The Lodhi dynasty was a Muslim dynasty that ruled parts of northern India from 1451 to 1526. It was founded by Bahlul Lodhi, who established the dynasty after defeating the last ruler of the Sayyid dynasty. The Lodhis were known for their efforts to consolidate power and expand their territory, particularly in the regions of Delhi and Punjab.
The dynasty is notable for its contributions to architecture and culture, with several impressive structures built during this period, including the Lodhi Gardens in Delhi. The Lodhi dynasty came to an end when it was overthrown by Babur, the founder of the Mughal Empire, at the First Battle of Panipat.
