Lockheed Martin X-35
The Lockheed Martin X-35 was a prototype aircraft developed for the United States' Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) program. It was designed to demonstrate advanced technologies for a new generation of fighter jets, focusing on versatility, stealth, and advanced avionics. The X-35 had two variants: the X-35A for conventional takeoff and landing, and the X-35B, which featured vertical takeoff and landing capabilities.
The X-35 competed against the Boeing X-32 in the JSF program, ultimately leading to the selection of the X-35 design for production as the F-35 Lightning II. The X-35's successful flight tests showcased its innovative features, contributing to the development of modern multirole combat aircraft.
