Lockheed A-12
The Lockheed A-12 is a reconnaissance aircraft developed in the 1960s for the United States Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). Designed by Lockheed Martin, it was part of the Oxcart program and was intended to gather intelligence over hostile territories. The A-12 featured advanced stealth technology, allowing it to evade radar detection.
The aircraft was powered by two Pratt & Whitney J58 engines and could reach speeds over Mach 3. It had a wingspan of 55 feet and was capable of flying at altitudes exceeding 90,000 feet. The A-12 played a crucial role in Cold War reconnaissance missions before being retired in the late 1960s.
