Live 8
Live 8 was a series of benefit concerts held on July 2, 2005, aimed at raising awareness about global poverty and advocating for action to help Africa. Organized by Bob Geldof and Midge Ure, the event featured performances from numerous famous artists, including U2, Madonna, and Coldplay, across multiple cities worldwide, including London, Philadelphia, and Tokyo.
The concerts were timed to coincide with the G8 Summit in Scotland, where world leaders were urged to address issues like debt relief and aid for developing countries. Live 8 sought to mobilize public support and pressure governments to take meaningful steps toward alleviating poverty.
