Band Aid
A Band Aid is a small adhesive strip used to cover minor cuts and abrasions. It typically consists of a sterile pad that absorbs blood and protects the wound, attached to a flexible adhesive backing. Band Aids come in various sizes and shapes, making them suitable for different types of injuries.
Invented in 1920 by Earle Dickson, a Johnson & Johnson employee, Band Aids were designed to help his wife, who frequently cut herself while cooking. Today, they are widely available in pharmacies and supermarkets, often featuring fun designs for children and specialized versions for different skin types.
