Little Round Top
Little Round Top is a prominent hill located at the southern end of the Gettysburg National Military Park in Pennsylvania. It played a crucial role during the Battle of Gettysburg on July 2, 1863, as Union forces defended it against Confederate attacks. The hill's strategic position allowed Union troops to gain a significant advantage in the battle.
The defense of Little Round Top was led by Colonel Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain and the 20th Maine Regiment. Their successful stand against the Confederate forces helped to secure the Union's left flank, ultimately contributing to the Union victory at Gettysburg. Today, it is a popular site for visitors and historians.
